Happy Fathers Day!

Yesterday we celebrated Jason's first official Fathers Day. It was really a fun day! We got up and I made a nice breakfast, then we all played in the backyard for a bit. We got AJ a new play thing for the backyard to go along with the playhouse. It's called a Kangaroo Climber and we got it used for his birthday. These things typically run for about $170 and we got it for $50! So, Jason put it together yesterday and we all played around for a bit. There's a slide, a tunnel, a door to open and close and steps to climb.

After AJ's nap we went to the Denver Zoo which was super fun! It was really crowded because it was such a nice day, but that wasn't a problem. It was the first time that AJ actually SAW the animals. He's seen them before of course, but this time when he saw the giraffes, horses and other animals he talked to them and reached out for them. It was adorable!

On another note, we've had some big developments in our house.... Take a look:

I'm standing!

Yes, that's right! AJ is learning to stand! AND...he's taken about 5 steps ! He can stand for about 10 seconds and then he sits down and crawls. I'm trying to get a better picture or video but when he does stand or take steps, I don't want to move because I know I'll distract him :)

What a great father's day! Sounds like a perfect low-key day. that slide looks really super fun too. Yay for Aj standing! Preston stands too, but hasn't really taken very many steps yet. Maybe one or two random ones here and there, but it's never led to actual walking yet. haha....maybe soon? I keep thinking a walker will be less trouble than a crawler...but I don't know I'm probably wrong.

Sounds like the perfect Father's Day! And what a present from AJ...he's standing and taking a few steps! It is amazing how fast the time has passed...though at times I'm sure it seemed like he'd never get from one stage to the next. Just like when he got the hang of crawling...there will be no stopping him once he realizes how much faster he can get from here to there when he's walks! Once JT figured out that walking was a cool thing...he went from walking to running! Fortunately, he'd stop when I called out his name. heehee

Hugs to you all!
