Jinxed Myself

Just when I post saying AJ has transitioned to one nap and is sleeping better, BAM, it all changes. He's back to taking 2 naps a day and is waking up even earlier than before! It's driving me bonkers! The past two days he's woken up before 6am. Today was 4:45am! WHAT??!!! That's just plain unacceptable in this house. I wonder what is going on??? By getting up that early, then he naps around 8am. Doesn't this just seem wrong?

See if I ever post another thing about his sleeping habits.....

Transition

I am happy to say that the day has finally come that AJ has transitioned to ONE NAP! A few months ago, I had many moms of older kids tell me how great this would be, but at the time AJ was taking two, two hour naps so why would I then want that to change to one two hour nap, I thought? Sure, it would be easier on my schedule, because then we could do more during the day and not plan so much around naps, but I kinda liked having 4 hours to do things around the house or do homework.

Then, all the sudden, the past week or so, AJ has somehow changed his schedule all on his own. He started napping later and longer and then started waking up at SEVEN AM rather than 6! BEST EVER! So, now this is our routine. He typically wakes at 7am-ish, then takes a nap from 11-1:30 or 2 and then is totally ready for bed by 7pm. So, he'll sleep almost 12 hours each night! WOOOHOOO!!

For whatever reason though, the past few nights, AJ has been waking up crying a few times a night. It's so quick that I don't even get out of bed, but he wakes 3-4 times and cries really hard and then goes back to sleep. I wonder if he's teething or having bad dreams? Who knows.....
