Update

It's been a while since I written an update on all that is going on in the Lewicki household. Here goes:

Anderson:

Sweet AJ continues to be a wonderful addition to our little family. He is so much fun! He and I continue to enjoy our swim lessons together and I am hoping that Jason can come to our next class on Tuesday so he can see AJ and get it on video. AJ loves for me to sing to him in the pool, to float on his back and tummy and even for me to dunk him under. He also tries very hard to blow bubbles, but in reality he's just trying to eat the water. He's great for about 30 minutes in the pool and then he's about done. Pretty good for being 7 months old!

We've started spending more time with other moms and their kids, which I think is so good for AJ. I really believe it's great for him to start being social with other people. I want him to learn to play well with others and I think it's a good time to get started with that. We've gone to Little Monkey Bizness again, to lunch with friends and also a few play dates. At this point, he doesn't really play, he mainly watches other kids and moms and sometimes gives us a big smile or yell to let us know he's having a good time.

AJ has been sitting up for a while now and for the past month or 6 weeks, he's been able to sit in a high chair at restaurants which is EXTREMELY helpful and makes my life so much easier! We usually go out to lunch at least once on the weekends and it's nice to have him at the table with us, but not in our lap. Now, he tries to eat the table (NASTY!) and of course is grabbing anything and everything he can get to. I often think that when the 3 of us go out, we need a table for 5 just to have room to move things away from him :) I was also telling Jason the other night that we're going to have to start tipping more because we're going to start leaving bigger messes for the waiters to clean up.

Anderson is at the point now, where he likes to eat little snacks like bread, yogurt fruit bites and also these yummy Gerber kid snacks. I must say, they are tasty! (Ya, sometimes I get hungry in the car and steal a few..LOL) I don't know what we'd do without these snacks because it seems whenever AJ gets a little annoyed, I give him a few and all is well in the world. These snacks are especially made for babies who are starting to learn to feed themselves. They practically melt in his mouth, which is nice since he only has 2 teeth! He is still working on feeding himself; often times he picks up the food, and then puts his entire hand in his mouth so the food gets stuck in the palm of his hand. It's a crack up!

Growing up, I was always pretty independent and could play on my own and enjoyed "My time". I'm still like that and I'm glad to see that AJ is able to play by himself for a little bit too. I can do things around the house while he plays with his toys and he just has a great time. Of course I want to spend time with him and I DO spend A LOT of time with him, but I think it's important that he also learn to play by himself too.

Lastly, I cannot tell you how many people make comments about Anderson's hair. EVERY time we go somewhere- Target, the grocery store, dinner- someone comes up and says how cute his "fuzzy" hair is. It's the funniest thing because I don't really think his hair is fuzzy. The other day a lady came up to me in Target and was talking to AJ telling him that he's probably going to need a haircut soon :) He just flirted right back to her. He's just so darn cute! (I'm bias, I know!)

Jason:

Jason is doing great and keeping busy with work. We are always thinking about how lucky we are that he's got a job, especially in this economy, because we never know what will happen in the future. For now, he's enjoying his sales job with Dell and doing really great! He's #1 on his team at the moment which makes him very happy (such a competitive guy).

It's so wonderful to see Jason and AJ hang out together. They adore each other to no end. It's become our routine that Jason gets AJ around 5, when he's off work and they hang out for a while. Jason usually feeds him dinner and gets him in his PJ's and they play in his room for a bit while I take a break from being a Mommy. Jason's on a mission to get AJ to crawl so I think they practice that most nights. It won't be long until he does crawl and the WATCH OUT!

Kate:

I have officially decided that I WILL do a triathlon on June 6, 2009! I am super excited and have been getting a TON of support from people already. For those of you who don't know, a Sprint Triathlon consists of 500 yard swim (20 laps in a pool), 12 mile bike ride and then a 3.2 mile run. All together I think it should take me less than 2 hours to finish, but I'm really not doing it for time; I'm doing it for fun and to get into shape. I'm also doing it to prove to myself that I can :)

I will keep you all posted on my journey!

Go AJ...such a great eater!

Go Kate...I know you will do well in your marathon. Wish I had the energy and time to do something like that. Maybe when Kara is a little older I might start out with a 5K...

And Jason, so can you hook us up with a cool new Dell laptop when our old one kicks the bucket?? We love DELL! Our desktop and laptop are both Dell. I am nervous about the laptop because we got it in 2003 and I already get messages that my drive is full. Chris is constantly taking my pics/video and putting them onto an E drive that we have linked to both computers. I love my laptop and hope it lasts a few more years!

I love reading about your adorable family. I wish we lived near one another...you guys would be sooo much fun to hang out with! :)
