AJ's 5th Birthday Party

AJ had another REALLY fun birthday party! It's so hard to believe he's 5...

We were lucky enough to have a lot of family come visit for AJ's party. My mom and Dave, my Dad and Cory and Jason's dad, Tom came to visit. I love how everyone gets along so well! AJ is such a family guy- he really, truly, loves his family :)

We invited all the kids from AJ's class as well as all of his other friends. I don't know exactly how many people were there, but look at the pictures below and you'll see it was A LOT!

It was the perfect day for water guns so each kid got his own gun and we filled up big buckets around the yard so they could refill. We also had HUGE buckets full of filled up water balloons (thank you Mom and Cory for filling them all up!) and had an awesome water balloon fight. It started as a toss, but then we let all the kids just go crazy (adults too!) It was amazing!

Jason BBQ's burgers and hot dogs and we had a ton of fruit, veggies, chips and drinks and everyone really seemed to have a wonderful time. I had hoped it would be a relaxing, fun, low key party (or as low key as it could be with that many people) and it was! AJ had a wonderful 5th birthday!

We also got to celebrate Pop's 70th birthday! I thought it would be fun to get him a cake and see what 70 candles actually looked like. It was funny, AJ was a little afraid that we'd burn down the house! It was nuts!

We got AJ's 5 year pictures done a few weeks ago and I LOVE THEM! Our photographer, Nikkie Roberts who owns NKR Photography, has been taking AJ's pictures for years. She gets AJ to smile and be silly and is just SO good with him! We love her :)

AJ's First Tball Game!

Yesterday was AJ's first Tball game. It was so cute- and hilarious- to watch. Each kid got to hit and each kid made it to first. Of course, there are no outs :) When our team was in the outfield and the other team hit the ball, EVERY SINGLE player on our team ran for (and sometimes faught for) the ball. No one cared if it got to first base.. Only that HE got the ball. It was quite entertaining :)

T Ball Practice

Here is a video of AJ and Jason practicing TBall last weekend while we were camping. It was so fun to watch! At one point we made bases with rocks and all the kids were hitting the ball and running bases. Such a great memory!



 

T Ball!

Yesterday was AJ's first T Ball practice. It was so fun! Earlier in the day he told me he was scared to go, but I explained it was nothing like karate (that obviously scared him a lot) and much like soccer. That helped a lot. And it was also helpful that his best friend from school, Kelan, is on his team. He had a blast and did really well!

They split the team into 2 groups and each group practiced hitting for a bit, then catching. This kid can throw! He was throwing line drives right back to his coach! And he was great at hitting too! Catching.. well.. he's young :)

Then they got to practicing running the bases. It was adorable to watch and I love that he had so much fun! After we all headed out for pizza to celebrate a fun first practice. Love this guy!!
