AJ the Artist

For the past few weeks, AJ and Mamna have been going to this art class at the rec center called Abrakadoodle. I wish I could see him there, because I know he just loves it! There are 7 or 8 kids in the class and they paint, color, cut paper and use glue. Then, after they make their project, they stand up in front of everyone and talk about what they made. My mom told me that the first day, he was shy and didn't really want to stand up and talk, but since then, he loves to get up and talk about he "cut mamna (with the scissors, by accident)" and he did "dot, dot, dot" with the paint.

Funny Things..

I love Jamie- my friend and AJ's babysitter... She just emailed me this. It's a conversation between her and AJ.

"Guess what?.....What? (pause...giggle..giggle)...

Guess WHAT?? ...... What? "I'm funny!!". :-)"

Thomas the Train

On Saturday, I took AJ to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. I bought the tickets a month ago because Thomas the Train was there! He's only there a few weekends each year and I just knew AJ would love it. I thought it would be a really fun thing for us to do together.

We got to the museum about 10am and we had to park a few miles away and be bussed in. It didn't even occur to me that AJ had never been on a bus before. He LOVED it! He thought it was the best thing ever because he didn't have to be in the car seat and the windows are so big. It was a good start to our day. When we got there, it was time for us to ride the HUGE train. We took a 25 minute ride around the museum and AJ had a blast. He was waving to everyone and saying "Hi" to Thomas the whole time. After our ride, we walked around and checked out the other trains- he was able to climb on and go thru many of them- went to the petting zoo, checked out the firetruck and watched the miniature train track set up. It was an awesome day.

"That's Funny"

AJ's new favorite saying is "That's' funny". Doesn't really matter what you say, he still says that. Today we were driving home from Jamie's house and I hadn't seen him in 2 days. I said to him, "AJ I missed you!" and he replied "Ya...that's funny Mama". Then, I told him about our upcoming weekend plans. I'm going to take him to see Thomas The Train at the Colorado Railroad Museum. I got tickets a month ago, we'll go on a 20 minute train ride and meet Thomas and Friends. Then we can check out the museum. I know he will LOVE it! So, I told him about it today and I said how excited I am for us to go. He said to me, "That's funny Mom...I'm excited too!" Man, he is GROWING UP!!!

Happy Apple Farm

Jason took AJ apple picking this weekend at the Happy Apple Farms. They went with our friends Heather and Domenic and their 3 kids. Looks like they had a great time!

Rain?

I just had to note this... Yesterday, on our way home, I said to AJ "Look at those beautiful clouds!" and he said to me.... "Ya...it might rain!" hahah! Where in the world did he learn the word "might" anyway?? He surprises me MANY times a day now. I think one of my most favorite parts of being a mom is watching AJ learn these new things. It's just amazing to me! I know I'm his mother, but I truly think he is SMART!
