It's Getting Easier
Just a quick update on the job situation for those of you who may be intested. Leaving AJ has gotten a lot easier. He was wonderful last week with Jamie and this morning he was very excited to spend the day with Mamna-in fact on the way there, he said, "AJ excited Mamna house" which was adorable. I know he's in good hands and is having a great time. No tears today, and I'm feeling pretty good. It helps a lot that we had a wonderful weekend together at the county fair, hanging out with friends and playing at the pool.

Double Trouble
Today AJ and I were lucky enough to hang out with our dear friends Ki and her sons Dax and Skylar. Ki just had baby Skylar two weeks ago and I'm sad to say we haven't been able to see them until today. We've been busy and out of town, but finally this morning we went over to there house to hang out, catch up and let the boys play.
Dax and AJ are quite a pair...of trouble makers! We were all hanging out in Ki's backyard and the boys were playing and running around and eventually made their way to the playhouse. It's this small room in the backyard that has a bunch of toys, and some bikes, and camping gear. Ki and I figured they would be fine in there alone and enjoyed a few minutes catching up and gushing over sweet baby Skylar. Then... we realized it was maybe a little too quiet. I went over to the playhouse to check on the boys and HOLY COW... Turns out there was (washable) paint left on the ground and the boys found it. They were quietly painting EVERYTHING in that room. The doors, the walls, the floor (wood floor, thankfully), a bike and all the toys in there were COVERED with globs of paint. There were about 5 open paint tubes thrown about and the boys had paint ALL over themselves. They both had completely blue hands and feet and had obviously been trying to eat the paint too. What a mess!! Thankfully, the paint is washable so it wasn't THAT big of a deal. It didn't ruin anything- it just made a huge mess and made very messy boys (who both had JUST had a bath)..ugh
You would think we would have learned a lesson after this...but no!
I made dinner for Ki and Dax just to help out a bit with the new baby and they invited AJ and I over to enjoy it together and let the boys play again. They just love each other. So, tonight we went back over to their house. Again, the boys were playing alone-this time upstairs- while we were eating. They were laughing and just cracking up and we figured they were playing with toys. Then it got quiet again.... I walked upstairs and I found Dax in the shower-fully clothed with shoes on- and AJ was turning the water on and off and each time it went on, Dax would scream and laugh. Dax was completely SOAKED! I couldn't believe it! I think what I couldn't believe is that two times in one day, Ki and I allowed the kids to get into this kind of trouble! These boys are so darn fun, but they are double trouble!

Tri For The Cure
Last weekend, I did a triathlon in Denver. It was called the Tri for the Cure- raising money for breast cancer. It was a SUPER fun race and there were thousands of people there! It was a 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 3.5 mile run. Here are a few pics!

Cute Things I Don't Want to Forget....Continued
AJ has been telling me lately that things or people, say Hi to him. He told me today, "Woofy say HI AJ!" It's the cutest things because he calls himself "AG" and he gets very excited about the things that say Hi to him. He told me last week after a trip to the zoo, that the "Hippo say HI AJ" :)
He loves to tell stories... He tells me ALL the time about trash. He tells me, in pieces, about how the trash truck comes down the street, the man puts the trash can on the truck, dumps the can into the trash truck and then moves to the next house. I love his stories!
My friend Ki, had her 2nd baby boy last week and that makes AJ's friend Dax, a big brother. AJ has no idea what this means, but I tell him all the time that Dax is a big brother. He told me that he's a brother...and that I'm a brother too :)
He can count! I'd like to say he can count to 10, but I'm not totally sure. He counts like this... 1, 2, 3, 5... Then he'll say, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. I don't know what he has against the number 4.
He is learning his ABC's. He can't recite them all, but I will sing it to him a lot and I don't always start with A..B..C... Sometimes I'll start with Q, R, S and he'll tell me the next letter. He's getting it!
Today, we had a storm, so on the way home, I was singing, "It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring. He bumped his head and went to bed and couldn't get up in the morning". He couldn't get enough of that song and thought it was the funniest thing ever!
Last night, we were playing around on my bed. He loves pillow fights and to jump onto the pillows. Well, he did this huge jump and his teeth landed on my forehead. OUCH!!! We both were hurting pretty bad. I thought for sure, he'd broken the skin on my head, but he didn't. What was cute about this was after he got done crying, he gave me the sweetest kiss on my forehead to make it all better :) I still had a massive headache, but it certainly helped!

Back To Work
I knew it was coming.... And I'm less than thrilled by it.... But, I went back to work yesterday. Full time. 5 days a week. 8 hours a day. I knew with all the changes going on these past few months that I was going to have to go back soon, and I've been searching for a job for months now. I absolutely hate leaving AJ everyday, all day, but I also know that it's what I have to do.
I got a temporary, full time job working at the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) in Denver. I'm a Wellness Coordinator. I'm learning that the title sounds a lot better than it really is, but it's a foot in the door to Health Care Administration, which is something I've decided I'd like to do. I want to get out of technology and out of mortgage and since I have my degree in Marketing, I figured why not try to use it?? But in order to really get a good job, I need experience.
As a Wellness Coordinator, I will work on a number of things. Most importantly, I am working on selling flu shots to other companies in the Denver Metro area. For example, XYZ company has 200 employees and maybe they would like to set up a day clinic at their location for their employees to get flu shots. We set that up, send out a nurse (or a few if necessary) to administer these shots and the company pays us a per shot fee. We are about to enter flu season and I hear that I will be very busy in the next few months. I also will help nurses set up the clinics and help with administrative work for the Wellness Director. It's not the greatest job by any means, but like I said, it's a step in the right direction in order to move into a new industry. I will also get some outside sales experience which will be great. I've only done inside sales and I need this experience.
AJ will be well taken care of. He will go to my moms house 2 days a week and to our good friend Jamie's house 3 days a week. Jamie has been watching AJ on and off for over a year now and AJ knows her well and loves to play with all of the other kids she takes care of. I know he's happy, well taken care of, and loved.
It's been a tough 2 days so far leaving him. Today, on our way to Jamie's, he told me "Mama, no work" which pretty much broke my heart.He's cried both days when he got dropped off, but Jamie assures me that he stops crying within 30 seconds. I've cried on and off for the past 2 days because I miss him so much during the day. I don't get nearly the time I had with him before, of course. I remind myself though, that he's happy, and that I've had 2 wonderful years to spend with him and we've done some really awesome things together. Of course we will continue to do fun things, just not as often. I tell myself also that AJ will be proud of me when he's older for doing this and working for our family. He's such an amazing boy and I know he's going to be a wonderful man.

California Trip July 2010
AJ, Mamna and I are back from a very fun trip to California! We had a great time seeing family, friends and enjoying the beach. As usual, it was busy, busy, busy! AJ did really well considering he didn't sleep nearly enough and we were always on the go to the next place. He had a few melt downs (which makes me sad for the people we're with as well as sad for AJ), but for the most part, he was a very good boy!
Our first day we got in early and headed straight to my Uncle Alan's Celebration. Alan passed away in June and will be missed greatly. It was awesome to see all of these people who had such fond memories of him.
We were able to see Pop & Grammy and Aunt Joan, along with many other friends and family. Then, after, we all headed back to Uncle Matt & Kristin's house to BBQ and hang out by there new, AMAZING spa.
During our trip, we did so many fun things. We went to the beach a few times and AJ enjoyed playing in the ocean and jumping over waves. He loved swimming in Matt & Kristin's spa (yes- we went swimming. It's THAT big!), seeing some old family friends, and hanging out with family.

We visited my moms long time friends Cheryl and Barbara along with Cheryl's daughter Nicole. This is Nicole's daughter, Kate. Kate will be 3 in December. AJ and Kate got along great; they played at the park and then loved going for a walk on the board walk in San Clemente.
Uncle Matt took us on a boat ride! It was one of the highlights of the trip, for sure. AJ had a blast!
