AJ the Artist

I captured this cute video tonight of AJ drawing. I am impressed that he holds the pen so well and can really draw some great circles :)

California Trip July 2010

AJ, Mamna and I are back from a very fun trip to California! We had a great time seeing family, friends and enjoying the beach. As usual, it was busy, busy, busy! AJ did really well considering he didn't sleep nearly enough and we were always on the go to the next place. He had a few melt downs (which makes me sad for the people we're with as well as sad for AJ), but for the most part, he was a very good boy!

Our first day we got in early and headed straight to my Uncle Alan's Celebration. Alan passed away in June and will be missed greatly. It was awesome to see all of these people who had such fond memories of him.

We were able to see Pop & Grammy and Aunt Joan, along with many other friends and family. Then, after, we all headed back to Uncle Matt & Kristin's house to BBQ and hang out by there new, AMAZING spa.

During our trip, we did so many fun things. We went to the beach a few times and AJ enjoyed playing in the ocean and jumping over waves. He loved swimming in Matt & Kristin's spa (yes- we went swimming. It's THAT big!), seeing some old family friends, and hanging out with family.

Dance Party USA with cousin Chase

We visited my moms long time friends Cheryl and Barbara along with Cheryl's daughter Nicole. This is Nicole's daughter, Kate. Kate will be 3 in December. AJ and Kate got along great; they played at the park and then loved going for a walk on the board walk in San Clemente.

Uncle Matt took us on a boat ride! It was one of the highlights of the trip, for sure. AJ had a blast!
AJ loved when Uncle Matt went fast!
And he got to drive too!
We spent some time at the beach, playing in the water. It was awesome to play with AJ and jump over waves with him.

College Graduate

This is one of the very few posts on this blog that ISN'T about AJ. I FINALLY finished college- I don't even know how long it took... Well, I do. Let's see... I'm 34 and graduated High School when I was 18. Toooooo long!

But, the great news is, it's done! I earned by Bachelors of Science in Marketing at University of Phoenix with a 3.22 GPA.

I'm so thrilled to be done and not have to worry about when I'm going to be able to finish a paper or think about how I really need to stop procrastinating :)

Yeah me! :)

Headed to California!

AJ, Grandma and I are headed to California to see all the family for a few days. We are super excited! Have a lot planed- the beach, seeing lots of friends and family, and going for a boat ride with Uncle Matt. AJ will love it!

Lots of pictures and stories when we get back.

Random Video of a 2 Year Old

Here are two random videos from today. He obviously get's that he's being filmed...

The best part of this video is my sigh at the end...

Preschool.... Next Year

Today, Jason and I made a very big decision. We decided that we're going to wait a year to enroll AJ in preschool. There were a lot of factors involved in this decision, but the main thing is that there's just been so much inconsistency in AJ's life this past year that we both think it's for the best to hold off.

It makes me really sad to think that AJ won't be in this awesome school this year- we've just heard so many wonderful things about it and I know he would get so much out of it. I was so looking forward to him coming home from school and telling me all of the new things he learned that day.

However, I also feel a huge sense of relief with this decision being made. I just don't know how we could have made it work. With Jason working so much and traveling, and then me getting a job (eventually) I don't know how we would have gotten AJ to school and back. Because the hours are really not set up for working parents (9-2:30) I would have had to drop him off somewhere early, then have someone else drop him at school, then pick him up and drop him off again. That just is not fair to him. Dropping him off at different places just plain sucks.

Since he won't be going to Little Blessings, he will instead be going to my moms (Mamna's) 2 days a week and then Miss Jamie's 3 days a week- 2 places he's very familiar with and enjoys. This is a time for consistency for my sweet boy.

I have to remind myself that he is only 2! Why does he need to go to preschool at 2??? I don't want him to grow up any faster than he already is!

No Thank You

He says No Thank You- however, it sounds much worse.... Of course he has no idea that it sounds like, "No F#%K You".  I know this blog is considered PG rated, but this is too funny not to post!

I need to get this on video...
