Yesterday was SUCH a beautiful day- we played outside until almost 6pm. Here's some video of my little dare devil!
On a side note, after watching this video a few times now, I realize that to you, it may look like my lawn is FULL of dog poop. Actually what you see are leaves- I had JUST cleaned up poop a few minutes before this video and thats why AJ is talking about poo poo :)

Hitting...ARGH!!!!!!
Why oh why must he be a "hitter"??? It's making me CRAZY!
Depending on the day, AJ will either be a "lover" or a "fighter". I never know what I'm going to get when the day begins. Or, there are days when he's both- and that REALLY screws me up. Today, we went to the Denver zoo with Ki & Dax and the boys had a good time together. They were playing and hugging each other. They were both in good moods- of course until we left, which was nap time.
Then, after nap time, AJ woke up and all he wanted to do was hit our poor sweet dog, Buster! Buster is the BEST dog. Ever. Seriously, the best dog. He takes ANYTHING that he's given. I feel so bad for this dog because he will NEVER fight back. As much as I obviously NEVER want him to hurt AJ, there are times when I think to myself "Gosh, it wouldn't surprise me if Buster growled at AJ or snipped a little". And he never has.
Lately, AJ has taken his toys and hit Buster over the head with them. He pokes at his eyes. He is just flat out mean! And OF COURSE I don't allow this... But at the same time, I can't keep my eyes on Buster and AJ every second of the day. So, when I catch AJ terrorizing Buster, I sent AJ to timeout with a serious scolding. Which is now a joke. UGH!!!!!!!!!!! He'll send himself to time out. This is very frustrating to say the least.
Of course, AJ has no idea what he's doing to Buster, because they are actually best friends. This afternoon, we all went to the park together and AJ was absolutely LOVING "walking" Buster. He holds Buster's leash and walks him. I taught him how to pat his leg- meaning "come on Buster" and he was doing it all afternoon. He was taking Buster for a run at one point and they were both so happy! He really can be a nice boy! (When he wants to be.)

Pictures of the Week
AJ the Construction Worker
I put these bunny ears on AJ tonight- He said "cheese" which means "take my picture". I ran quickly to get the camera. Well, by then he was over it. So, here I was with my camera and determined to get a picture of him! I put the bunny ears on doggy, and he thought it was the funniest thing ever!

Bragging a Bit
Since this blog really is about AJ, and this entry is about me, I'll keep it short.
As I said a few days ago, I'm training for a bunch of races. Well, today, I ran farther than I've ever run...in my life! I ran NINE miles. I ran along this lovely trail behind these BEAUTIFUL million dollar homes and it was awesome! The other really neat thing is that there were a lot of "runners" out there training for BIG races. I never considered myself a runner. I run, but I don't think of myself as a "runner". It was neat to be in their company.
My body felt really great the whole time- I never had any cramps, and my breathing was awesome. I could have gone longer, except my hips and knee were killing me by about mile 7. Something I'm going to have to get through though, because next week is TEN... Only 4 more weeks until my first HALF MARATHON! (That's' 13.1, in case you didn't know)
I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk tomorrow.... But I'm also pretty sure I'm going to eat ANYTHING I want and not feel guilty!

More Pee & Poo
**UPDATE**
AJ has peed on the potty 4 times today and pooped three times. Once he even did it at Grandma & Bop Pa's house on the real toilet! Wow! IMPRESSIVE!

Pee & Poop!
AJ has become completely obsessed with toilets lately. He loves to flush them and watch the water go around the bowl. Pretty nasty if you ask me, but I can understand the fascination (since he is only 20 months!) So, when I use the bathroom, I typically will ask him if he wants to go with me. He ALWAYS want to go with me.
This morning, we were reading a book about ABC's and we got to the letter Z and there was a picture of a zipper. He pointed to his zipper on his PJ's and he started to unzip them. I figured it was time to get dressed anyway, so I let him take off his PJ's. He was standing there in his diaper, and I said, "Do you want to go pee pee?" Of course his answer was a very excited, "YES!" - and he ran towards the bathroom.
We got in there and I took off his diaper and he just sat right down on his little boy potty. He would sit, and then stand, and sit and stand and finally, I told him, if he goes pee pee, he can flush the toilet. So, he sat down on his potty again and he peed! I could see on his face that he was really trying to pee. He was concentrating.
When he was done with his first little pee, he got up and I removed the little pee bucket (for lack of a better term) and dumped it in the real toilet. Then AJ got his reward.... FLUSH! He was so excited! I remember thinking to myself, "I hear of people who have to give their kids M&M's when they pee in the potty, but all I have to do is let him flush!"
So, we did this whole thing about 10 more times. A little pee, dump it in the toilet and flush....
I got a total surprise when he was sitting on his toilet, TRYING to pee (at this point, I think his bladder was close to empty) and he stood up again and there it was..... POOP! hahaha! Sorry to be so graphic and disgusting, but this is a big milestone! He POOPED in the potty! This kid is 20 months old!
I think it's pretty funny that the highlight of my day was the fact that AJ pooped and peed in the potty- but heck, I'm a mom! A very proud mom :)
