Practicing Colors

Here's a little video of AJ practicing his colors. As you can see, his favorite color is blue :) But he's getting to know the others too!

Colors

I'm proud to say that AJ is starting to learn his colors! He is really enjoying coloring and playing playdough- it's something he does a lot when he's with Grandma and Bopa.

The other day, he picked up some toy in the bath and said "Bue" and yep, it was blue! It wasn't a fluke either because he's been doing it ever since. Yesterday he was able to pick out the purple, yellow, orange and blue markers. I am impressed! I love how he just keeps learning!

Big Helper

AJ has become such a big helper! He really enjoys doing things with and for me. It's very cute to watch him doing things and be proud of his accomplishments.

Here are a few things that AJ likes to do:

* He loves to help me feed Buster. He will bring the bowl to me, so I can put Busters medication in there. Then he takes the bowl into the laundry room (where we keep the dog food) and I fill it up with food. Then AJ brings it to the backdoor so I can put it outside.

* Ever since he helped me make lasagna last week, AJ is REALLY interested in helping me in the kitchen. Whenever I am doing something in the kitchen, he wants to "watch"- which really means help. I let him stir things or help me in other ways.

* AJ also likes to help me empty the dishwasher. He will take each piece of silverware out one by one and hand it to me. I tell him all the things I put away, so he can learn what they are.

* He likes to throw things away. Thankfully, I don't typically find things in the trash that don't belong :)

My Little Chef

Today, I decided to let AJ help me in the kitchen- something I haven't quite been brave enough to do yet. He is very interested in watching everything I do- he says "watch! watch!" all of the time when I'm in the kitchen. So, when it came time to make a few pans of lasagna, I asked if he'd like to help and he of course said, "Yes!"

I can't believe how much fun it really was for both of us. He made a huge mess, but I didn't care at all. I let him help me make the ricotta mix and he got to stir that for a while. He watched me cook the meat and boil the noodles. He also enjoyed tasting some of the cheese while we waited for everything to cook. It made me so happy to see him enjoying himself and I could tell he was proud of his hard work!
