More Progress!

I took Anderson for an HOUR long walk tonight and he didn't make a peep! Actually, I caught him looking around at all that was going on (dogs walking, the leaves blowing in the wind, etc) and he ENJOYED it! Yah!!! The bad news is that we're supposed to get snow and see 30 degree temps tomorrow so I'm not sure when we'll be walking again. Regardless, this is great news for us!

Wish us luck on the new car seat! I'm installing it tomorrow.

HE TOOK A BOTTLE!!

Wow, what a day! Started out with a nice walk with the boys- I took AJ in the stroller and he did great! He was happy and watching all that was going on around us. I'm starting to use the stroller at least once a day to get him used to it.

Then later in the day we met up with Holly and the kids at this wonderful new park near our house. It's amazing! It's huge and is separated into 3 smaller areas for different age kids. AJ is still too small for any of them really, but once he can walk he'll have a blast! I did put him on the swing for a while and he was loving it!

While I was catching up with Holly I mentioned how AJ's still not sleeping well and she asked if we've tried the bottle lately. I haven't, and really I think I haven't thought much about the bottle because I just assumed he wouldn't take it- especially from me.

I got home from the park and realized that Anderson was probably hungry so I decided to try the bottle! I mean, it couldn't hurt could it? So, I just grabbed any bottle I could find- didn't even try to get the best one or one I thought he might like the best- and put in a few ounces of milk and gave it to him. I had no idea what he'd do... He played around with it in his mouth for a bit as he didn't know what to do with it. He got a lot of milk on his shirt, but eventually figured out that there was good stuff in there! I actually had to refill a few ounces because he drank it! I AM THRILLED!!

Thank you Holly for reminding me to try it again! I think he finally likes it because he's older...who knows really? Who cares! haha!

The true test will be later tonight when I'm asleep and Jason gives it to him. Wish us luck!!

Bye Bye Baby Bjorn

It's official. I can no longer carry Anderson in the Baby Bjorn. He's just TOO DARN BIG! I took him shopping last week and had him in the Bjorn while carrying his big diaper bag and some shopping bags; at the end of the day my back hurt so bad! Then and there I decided that I'm done with it. He's going to HAVE to like his stroller- that's all there is too it. Last night we took him for a walk in the stroller and he did pretty well until the end. Then today I took him again and he did great! Only fussed when the sun was in his eyes. I'm going to keep working on it with him because we've just got to make it work.

After our walk ...

Part of me is looking forward to him being able to sit up on his own so that when we go grocery shopping or to Target I can put him in the cart. The other part of me doesn't want him to grow up that fast! For now, I will either carry him or have him in his stroller.
On another note, we've started feeding him sweet potatoes. He likes them MUCH better than avocado- I can't blame him!

Also, he's really learning how to entertain himself more lately. Obviously I have my eyes on him at all times, but he's able to hang out on his Little Einstein mat and roll around and play while I clean the house or cook dinner. It's so nice to get a LITTLE time to do these things while he's awake and not have to cram it all into nap time. Don't get me started on nap time.. hahah!

A Big Boy Car Seat!

The time has come.. Our little boy will no longer be sitting in his Snugride car seat. We decided it was time to get him the Britax Roundabout Convertible car seat in HOPES that he'll enjoy the car rides a bit more. Oh, and not to mention he's about to outgrow the one he has! This new car seat will allow him to sit rear facing until he's 1, and then will go forward facing until he's 40lbs. Let's hope that's not too soon!

Avocado for Din Din

Today I decided to have Anderson try avocado for dinner. I got this book, Super Baby Food which was highly recommended to me and I learned that avocado can be a babies first solid food. The other options are rice cereal (been doing that for about a month), sweet potatoes, banana and yogurt. I was originally going to do sweet potato, but they didn't look so good at the store. Personally, I can't imagine eating avocado as it's never been my thing, but I figured that I'd give it a try with AJ.

AJ's first Ouchie!

AJ got his first ouchie in California. His mommy didn't cut his nails when she should have... BAD MOMMY! (Of course, I was there to take a pic of it! haha)

Luckily, I don't think he even knew it happened!
